Do you know Linux, Drupal (or other CMS), mySQL, CSS, javascript? If yes read on...
The unit is looking for a person (anywhere in the world) to help us set up a new drupal based website on an external Web server.
We have the code, the style, the database and everything. We just need help with installation, customization of CSS and menu, and some few details (e.g, linking to eprints). We also need some help with Javascript and creating interactive sites.
If you are interested (serious proposals only) please send an email to s.tsaftaris A_T imtlucca.it with the subject [SYSADMIN] and include your expertise and interests.
Short Term Collaborative Positions
We are looking for people willing to help us (paid and unpaid depending on your experience) with small things in the lab.
Typical examples are manual labelling or segmentation of medical or plant images, conversion of code from Matlab to Java or Python, creating interactive javascript or java based sites, etc. If you are interested, please email s.tsaftaris A_T imtlucca.it with the subject [INTERN] and list your expertise and interests.
Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning Applied to Image Analysis - 1 Post Doctoral Fellow Position
We invite applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the area of pattern recognition and image analysis. Candidates with a Ph.D. in electrical or biomedical engineering, computer science, imaging, or equivalent are preferable.
We are specifically interested in the development of new data-driven computational methods for analysis of biomedical images. The fellow will have access to a large collection of datasets from a variety of biomedical imaging domains. The candidate will join a rapidly growing and interdisciplinary group that collaborates with a variety of laboratories across the world to develop new methods for image analysis (segmentation and detection) and the discovery of patterns in multidimensional datasets arising in imaging problems in natural and life sciences. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in image processing and analysis, in pattern recognition and machine learning and have a strong interest in bridging the gap to the medical/biological/natural sciences. The ideal candidate should have excellent programming skills and a strong mathematical background. Experience in applying such techniques in (bio) medical imaging applications (for example cardiac or brain imaging, cell imaging) will be considered a plus. Candidates must have an excellent record of high-impact international publications and excellent communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for performing applied research in an interdisciplinary Research Unit.
The fellow is expected to focus mostly on research and mentoring Ph.D. students. Limited participation in teaching of graduate courses may be requested.
